GridSlate

Terms of service

Last updated November 1, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and [seller’s legal name, address and, for a company, its number] (“we”) for the GridSlate app, account and website. By creating an account or subscribing you accept them.

The service

GridSlate is desktop software for sorting, editing and exporting volume photography. A subscription lets you use it on as many computers at a time as your plan has PCs, with every feature.

You must be at least 18 to use GridSlate. If you accept these terms for a business, you confirm that you may bind it.

Free period and free trial

Until 1 March 2027 every account may use GridSlate free of charge, on one computer. After that date GridSlate needs a subscription to export, and an account or computer that used the free period gets no trial. Any other account and computer can have one free 30-day trial. After it, GridSlate keeps opening your work read-only until you subscribe.

Subscriptions and payment, from 1 March 2027

  • Prices are per month and include VAT. Every extra PC costs less, as shown on the pricing page.
  • You pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe, or by MB WAY or Multibanco through easypay. Your subscription renews each month until you cancel: we charge the saved payment method each month; for Multibanco we send a reference a week before the month ends.
  • If a payment fails, GridSlate keeps working for 30 days while we try again. After that it opens read-only until the subscription is paid.
  • More PCs: you pay the difference for the rest of the month, and they are added once it is paid. Fewer PCs: the change applies at the next renewal, and the computers used least recently are signed out.
  • Cancel any time from your account page; the subscription ends at the end of the month already paid. There is no cancellation fee.
  • We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change, and you may cancel before it applies.
  • Refunds: if you ask within 14 days of your first payment, we refund it in full. This also covers the right of withdrawal that consumers have in the EU and the UK. After that, payments are not refunded unless the law requires it or we failed to provide what you paid for. Every payment gets an invoice, and every refund a credit note.
  • Invitations: when someone you invite makes their first subscription payment, you each get one free month, once per person invited. Free months have no cash value.

Your licence

While your subscription or trial runs, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use GridSlate on the computers your plan allows. If you subscribe for a business, its staff may use those computers. We own the software and license it to you; we do not sell it. The open source parts come with their own licences, listed on our open source page, and nothing here limits your rights under them.

Computers

Sign in on a new computer and, if every PC of your plan is in use, the one used least recently is signed out for you. A computer that leaves your account can join it again after 30 days. The app checks in with our server regularly; without a check-in for 30 days, or after the subscription ends, it keeps opening your work read-only until it checks in again. Your files are never locked or deleted.

Your account

Keep access to your sign-in provider safe: you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using it.

What you may not do

  • Share your account or plan with anyone outside your household or business, or resell, rent or sublicense the software.
  • Get around the licence check, the limits of your plan or the trial.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, extract any of its components, copy or modify it, or remove its notices, except where the law gives you a right we cannot exclude.
  • Attack, overload or scrape our servers, or use GridSlate to break the law or anyone’s rights.

Your work

Your photos and exports are yours. We claim no rights in them, never receive them, and do not train AI on them. A problem report you send is used only to fix the problem.

You are responsible for your photos and for having the rights and permissions you need for them, including for the people in them. Keep backups: we hold no copy, so we cannot restore your work.

Feedback

If you send us an idea or a suggestion, we may use it without owing you anything. It stays yours too.

Availability and changes

We update GridSlate regularly and may change or remove features; we will not remove a core feature during a period you have paid for. The software is made with professional care, but without a promise that it is free of errors or always available. Beyond what the law requires, it comes as it is.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury, fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or anything else the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, you keep every right the law gives you, and we are not liable for loss nobody could have foreseen.

If you use GridSlate for a business or profession, we are not liable for lost profit, lost business or lost data, or for indirect loss, and our total liability for everything arising in any 12 months is limited to the greater of what you paid us in those 12 months and €100. You also cover our reasonable costs of any claim brought against us by someone else because of your photos or your breach of these terms.

Ending the agreement

You may cancel your subscription at any time and, once no plan is running, delete your account from your account page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, after telling you why when the law allows, and without a refund if the breach is serious. If we stop offering GridSlate, we will tell you at least 30 days before and refund any time you have paid for and not used.

When the agreement ends, GridSlate opens your work read-only. Your files stay on your computer.

Changes to these terms

We will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before a change that affects you in any important way. If you do not accept it, you may cancel before it applies, and the current terms hold until the end of the period you have paid for.

Law

[Portuguese] law applies, and the courts of [Portugal] decide disputes. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country they live in and may go to court there. [Consumer dispute-resolution body, if the seller’s country requires one.] If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Questions: [email protected].
